The food was outstanding with lots of options. The staff was pleasant and exceptional all day long. The hotel was located particularly good for us, close to a cable car station.
The staff - some of them were awful.

The staff were very accommodating regarding dietary needs.
Our room had a strong smell of smoke when we arrived. Although the manager attempted to remedy this, the odor returned quickly. I found the cleanliness of the overall hotel to be lacking with some noticeable residue in the bathroom areas.

Dining at Lalaca is an experience! The kaiseki-style meals were massive and good, perfect for culinary explorers. Plus, the private onsen was a dream for relaxation after all that delicious food! The staff were really good, especially when accommodating my son's dietary needs.
The only hiccup? The uphill walk from Gora station can be a real leg-burner if you're dragging heavy bags.

We had a huge room with tatami mats and a private shower, super comfy. The beds were really cozy and the view of the snow-covered mountains was amazing. We also loved that they provided yukatas for us to wear around. The space felt authentic and was really well-equipped for our stay. Only thing was, the walk from the station is a bit steep, but it was totally worth it for the experience!

The food was out of this world, and I loved soaking in the private onsen after a long day out exploring. It was so relaxing to unwind at the open-air bath and have the chance to lounge in the garden area. Just a heads up, the toilet can get a bit chilly during the night, but it didn’t take away from our lovely stay! 😊

It was just a commendable fit for a momentary visit in Hakone with best value for money ratio. The staff helped us arrange to have our luggage sent ahead to the train station, making our day exploring so much easier. Try to enjoy the onsen when it's less crowded for a more relaxing experience.
